Our Daily Bread Ministries is partnering with the Council of Christian Education in Indonesia (MPK) to do this ‘Be a Light’ project. MPK is the organization which all Christian education foundations or organizations in Indonesia are affiliated to.

One of the books in the ‘Be a Light’ Project package is the comic book ‘Queen Esther’. In this comic, the story ofQueen Esther in the Old Testament is re-narrated along with visually-enhanced images. Praise God, this comic has been successfully translated into different languages and distributed to various countries.

Aside from Christian books, the essential thing in the ‘Be a Light’ Project package is the solar-powered lamp. This lamp needs only to be put under sunlight to be charged and it can be used for hours with an adjustable level of light.

Living in South Central Timor District comes with its own set of challenges, particularly when it comes to communication signals. In this district, tucked away behind hills, accessing the internet is far from easy. However, a recent afternoon proved to be an exception. As I accompanied Rev. Maxen, the pastor who graciously provided transportation, we ascended a hill, and to our surprise, the cell phone signal strengthened. Dozens of delayed notifications flooded in, but I resisted the urge to check them, focusing instead on navigating the steep and muddy path ahead.
